Quick fixes for the most common Sticky Header Effects questions. Most issues come down to one of three things – the header isn’t actually sticky, the effect is on the wrong element, or another plugin or theme is interfering.

The Header Doesn’t Stick at All
Sticky Header Effects styles the header on scroll – it does not pin it. Make the header sticky in Elementor first: select the header Section or Container and go to Advanced > Motion Effects > Sticky: Top. It also won’t override an existing Elementor sticky configuration.
Effects Aren’t Applying on Scroll
- Confirm Enable is On in Advanced > Sticky Header Effects.
- Make sure you set the effect on the top-level Section or Container, not an inner column or widget.
- Check that you have scrolled past the Scroll Distance (default 60px).
- Confirm the current device is selected under Enable On.
Content Is Hidden Behind a Transparent Header
A transparent header overlays the page, so add top padding or margin to your first section so its content isn’t covered.
The Background Color Doesn’t Fade Smoothly
Classic colors transition smoothly, but gradients switch instantly and don’t animate. Use a Classic color for a smooth fade. See Change Background Color.
The Blur Effect Isn’t Visible
- Blur acts on whatever shows through the header – add a semi-transparent background color (rgba).
- Very old browsers without
backdrop-filtersupport won’t render it.
The Header Won’t Shrink as Small as I Want
It can’t shrink smaller than the elements inside it. Reduce the logo size or menu padding first, then lower the Header Height. See Shrink Header.
The Logo Color or Size Isn’t Changing
Logo effects only target Elementor Image, Site Logo, or .logo elements. Logos added via custom HTML aren’t affected. For Shrink Logo, set Logo Height (%) below 100.
Entrance Animations Broke After Enabling Hide on Scroll
Hide on Scroll Down can interfere with section or container entrance animations. Disable it on pages that rely on those animations, or reduce their use below the header.
Translations Aren’t Showing
The text domain is she-header and translations load automatically. Make sure your .mo and .po files use the she-header text domain.
Still Stuck?
- Reproduce the issue with a default theme and only Elementor + Sticky Header Effects active to rule out conflicts.
